Do you have to be Catholic to attend St John’s?

We are a Catholic school and we ask that students and families support the Catholic ethos and values in which our community is based on.  Not being Catholic does not preclude you from enrolling.  Offers are made in accordance to our Enrolment Policy.

How long before students commence in Reception do I need to enrol?

Normally offers are made 18 months prior to children commencing.  It is recommended that applications are made 2 years prior to the child starting school.

Do you have a Before & After School Care facility?

Yes, our Out of School Hours Care facility is run by Camp Australia.

How many students are in each class?

St John’s follows the recommendations from Catholic Education South Australia regarding our class sizes.  In Reception to Year 1 the maximum number of students is 25 and from Year 2 to Year 7 it is 29.

What are the benefits of staying at St John’s until the end of Year 7?

Our Middle School offers a familiar, warm and friendly environment for students at an age when they need it the most.  We deliver a quality Middle School Curriculum delivered by highly motivational teachers.  In Year 7 students have the opportunity to go to our nation’s capital, Canberra.  Children are also encouraged to take up various leadership roles and mentoring our younger students.

Where do children go after St John’s?

Our school is a member of the south west region of Catholic schools.  We have clear pathways to:

  • Marymount College (Girls)
  • Sacred Heart Middle School (Boys)
  • Cabra College (Co-educational)

Does school teach religion to everyone?

Yes we do!
